Director: Family Foot & Ankle Care, PC

Treating people gently, consistently and quickly, so they can resume the activities they love as soon as possible” – that’s the philosophy of Dr. Discont, a foot and ankle specialist recognized as a PHOENIX magazine “Top Doc” since 2008. Board-certified by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. He is president of his state medical association, practicing in the East Valley for more than 30 years and is a frequent lecturer and contributor for medical societies, public organizations and television networks, including CBS Your Health, FOX Medical News, KAZT Morning Scramble, TV3 AzFamily and TV15 Sonoran Living. Education is the key to state of the art medical care.” says Dr. Discont, who is a former residency director and adjunct clinical professor for medical schools since 1986 and regularly completes two to three times the Arizona annual educational requirements. After attending Ohio State University and University of Arizona, he earned his doctorate at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, performed his surgical residency in Mesa, and specialized surgical training in Phoenix, Baltimore, Detroit, Cleveland and Tucson.

When asked what’s new in foot and ankle care, Dr. Discont is pleased to provide four newly advanced and exciting treatments:

• Amnionic stem cell therapy, a micro-insertional therapy for chronically painful ligament and tendon conditions that has been proven to be very successful in non-resolving tendon and joint injuries, heel pain, sports medicine and preventing surgery.

• Hyperblue laser treatment for nail and skin fungal infections, spider veins and skin conditions. This painless cosmetic laser therapy can be used to reduce or eliminate unsightly skin and fungal infections, many times without oral medications.

• HyProCure realignment correction for adolescent and adult flat foot conditions that cause ankle, knee, hip and back problems from internal imbalance. This minimally invasive procedure helps correct abnormal alignment, relieving symptoms in children and adults. HyProCure gives many patients the freedom to wear casual shoes or sandals and go barefoot again.

• Laser guided 3D orthotic/insole therapy, providing digital contour mapping of the feet, helping to control abnormal alignment in children and adults, many times preventing surgery.
