Center Brook Lopez of the Brooklyn Nets is reportedly in a walking boot after undergoing his third foot injury in two years; only this time to replace a bent hardware which is stabilizing his right fifth metatarsal.
Lopez had a stress fracture occur in Dec. 2011, which immediately followed surgery. He missed 32 games and then played only 5 games before re-injuring his foot. Lopez recovered enough to a great performance in 2012-2013, but then went back to missing games in late Dec, to a foot sprain. Discovery of his bent screw occurred after following a routine post-season checkup, and not because of the pain he was facing initially. Lopez will be undergoing rest and rehab to properly heal the injured foot, according to columnist Abby Sims of New York CBS Local.
